Stephen A. Ferrara is a family nurse practitioner with over 25 years of experience in primary care, health policy, and health AI. As a faculty member at Columbia University School of Nursing, Stephen has witnessed firsthand how rapidly AI is transforming healthcare, and how underprepared most nurses are to lead that transformation.
Drawing on decades of clinical practice, health policy work, and health AI expertise, Stephen created AI + Nurse Academy™ to ensure nurses and other healthcare professionals have access to professional AI education that respects clinical expertise and builds literacy, confidence, and leadership skills.
Stephen holds a Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) degree and is board-certified as a Family Nurse Practitioner. In addition to clinical practice and teaching, Stephen has extensive experience in nonprofit leadership and has been a voice for advancing full practice authority and professional development.
